A Day at Banff
When I travel, I like to take opportunity to visit places where other people worship God, Christian or other faith. I went to a Japanese-speaking Christian congregation this morning for Sunday service. This is the first time since the beginning of the trip I was in a city where church services were easily accessible on Sunday. I thought I was to listen with my heart, not with my ears since I knew very little Japanese. Surprisingly, they had an English-speaking guest preacher today. He delivered a spiritual-lifting “Empower Womanhood” sermon to a congregation mostly female.
After church I had a good visit to Banff’s Gondola a few miles outside of the city. From the terminal, visitors ride cable car across the valley to Sulfur Mountain. A boardwalk of spectacular view led visitors to an old Cosmic Ray Station’s site. Coming back from the Mountain I enjoyed an outdoor pool dip briefly at Banff’s Upper Hot Spring across Gondola’s parking lot.
This is a busy day of touring and I feel more like a tourist than a traveler now.
