Adjusting the Internal Weather
It had rained on and off last couple of the days and outdoor activity was very much limited. I decided to leave Denali National Park and moved on. I had good time in the Park but wanted to have chance to see more of Alaska too. I packed up and headed toward Anchorage 240 miles south of Denali this morning.
I did not know if the weather ahead would be better or not. But I knew even though I had no control of the weather condition outside I could always regulate my internal weather of emotion and mood to live with the external one in harmony. Music of various ages had been a great tool for me to adjust my mood that sometimes fluctuated naturally with the external situation.
This morning before leaving the Park I checked e-mails and realized that a CD I loaned from my local library was due soon and not renewable because someone was on the waiting list. I brought quite a few music CDs with me and had been listening to them on the road. But I had not gotten to this one yet. I decided to listen to it on my way to Talkeetna before sending it out from there. Celine Dion’s “All the Way – A decade of Songs” was perfect for the weather like this. I think, love songs and rain seem to always go well together.

Stop by at Talkeetna. Talkeetna is 120 miles south of Denali National Park on Parks Highway. It is the base of many air services specialized in glacier landing. I did not take advantage of the service since it is not a idea weather to fly to glaciated mountain.
